Thirty-second and Thirty-third COVID-19 related deaths reported

The Oregon Health Authority reported the thirty-second and thirty-third COVID-related deaths of Baker County residents. “Oregon’s 5,127th COVID-19 related death is an 81-year-old woman from Baker County who tested positive Nov. 19 and died Nov. 26 at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. She had no underlying conditions.

Oregon’s 5,128th COVID-19 related death is a 67-year-old woman from Baker County who tested positive Nov. 2 and died Nov. 27 at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. She had no underlying conditions.”

Health Department Director Nancy Staten said, “Every death leaves a hole in our community, and I know these losses can be especially hard during the holidays. My heart goes out to all of the family and friends of these two women, I’m so sorry for what they are going through.”

To protect the privacy and well-being of the family, and to maintain compliance with health information privacy regulations, no further information about the individual will be released by the County. We encourage everyone to be respectful as a family in our community grieves.
