Thirty-fourth COVID-19 related death reported

PRESS RELEASE

The Oregon Health Authority reported the thirty-fourth COVID-related death of a Baker County resident. “Oregon’s 5,313th COVID-19 related death is a 62-year-old man from Baker County who tested positive Nov. 16 and died Dec. 1. Location of death and presence of underlying conditions are being confirmed.”

Health Department Director Nancy Staten said, “We are saddened by this loss in our community. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts during this difficult time.”

To protect the privacy and well-being of the family, and to maintain compliance with health information privacy regulations, no further information about the individual will be released by the County. We encourage everyone to be respectful as a family in our community grieves.

Thirty-second and Thirty-third COVID-19 related deaths reported

PRESS RELEASE

The Oregon Health Authority reported the thirty-second and thirty-third COVID-related deaths of Baker County residents. “Oregon’s 5,127th COVID-19 related death is an 81-year-old woman from Baker County who tested positive Nov. 19 and died Nov. 26 at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. She had no underlying conditions.

Oregon’s 5,128th COVID-19 related death is a 67-year-old woman from Baker County who tested positive Nov. 2 and died Nov. 27 at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. She had no underlying conditions.”

Health Department Director Nancy Staten said, “Every death leaves a hole in our community, and I know these losses can be especially hard during the holidays. My heart goes out to all of the family and friends of these two women, I’m so sorry for what they are going through.”

Thirty-first COVID-19 related death reported

Today, the Oregon Health Authority announced the thirty-first COVID-19 related death in Baker County.  “Oregon’s 4,866th COVID-19 related death is a 70-year-old man from Baker County who tested positive on Nov. 9 and died on Nov. 15 at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. Presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.”

Commissioner Mark Bennett said, “Receiving the news of another COVID-19 related death in our tight-knit community is particularly difficult. We are saddened by this loss and will keep his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.”
